This weekend, the Church celebrates All Souls Day, a moment in the Catholic calendar to reflect on those who have passed before us.
Our Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Thursday, October 10 was electric! Cathedralites choreographed and organized the entire show in just a few weeks. They performed dances including huapango, salsa, and bachata; recited poems both famous and original and played percussion arrangements inspired by famous Latino songs.
Medical Gateways seniors were officially presented with their White Coats on Friday, October 18. The morning started with a Mass celebrating the feast of St. Luke, the patron saint of physicians, at St. Thomas More Parish. The ceremony, organized by Medical Gateways Academy Director Ms. Amy Anci, included keynote remarks given by guest speaker and alumna Shannon Wales ’03 and senior Madison C. ’25.
Ms. Rosemary Mazzo has been an irreplaceable resource for our students for over seven years, helping countless Cathedralites to learn the skills necessary to succeed professionally and personally after graduating.
Freshman students spent a day at the NYU Catholic Center participating in a retreat hosted by Enliven, Cathedral’s faith and service club. Students engaged with the theme of the retreat, “Identity and Belonging,” in bonding activities as well as in prayer and reflection time.

As part of the Women for the World speaker series, missionaries from the Culture Project spoke to the freshman class about human dignity: the innate value which sets human beings apart from the rest of creation.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, students in Enliven are motivated to take action to support Impaktemos, a non-profit educational program that offers women in Venezuela a foundation of skills, values, and virtues to support them, their families, and their communities.
Our first Open House on Saturday was incredible! Our faculty, staff, and students have a contagious excitement and love for the gift of our Cathedral community, and we are deeply grateful for all of the prospective Cathedralites and their families who joined us for the day!
