CHS hosted its first Legacy Society luncheon on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, to celebrate the philanthropy of its members. Cathedral High School President Juliette Picciano welcomed attendees and reminded us that “Although our students come from diverse racial, geographic, and cultural backgrounds, they are motivated by a shared desire to pursue the education that will help them become a ‘woman for the world’ – a woman who cultivates her God-given gifts and boldly uses those gifts to lead, serve, improve the world around her.” Legacy Society member Marta Baez from the class of ‘65 shared that the reason she supports Cathedral is because of the expanded possibilities for girls, the cultural diversity, and the emphasis on values. Society members and other alumnae and friends enjoyed getting to know some of our current juniors and sharing stories with them. The afternoon ended with a greater understanding of the importance of planned giving as a means to keep Cathedral High School the nurturing and outstanding place it is today. As India Sneed ’04 said “empowerment” and “I know I can” are two key things that every student can take away from CHS. Thanks to all of you who make this possible!
