Dear Cathedral High School Community,
I write to you today to share that after three years of devoted service to Cathedral High School, our President Ms. Juliette Picciano will become Head of School at another high school in her local New Jersey community on June 1.
Ms. Picciano has led our school through a particularly significant moment in Cathedral’s history. Thanks to her steadfast leadership, we secured a new home at 116 East 97th Street and navigated a historic relocation, built a team of exceptionally talented school administrators, and raised over $10 million in scholarship and financial aid support for current and future Cathedralites. In short, Cathedral’s long legacy of excellence in Catholic education has been strengthened by her work and leadership.
As Chair of the Board of Trustees, I have witnessed first-hand Ms. Picciano’s deep love for Cathedral’s enduring mission. In a particular way, she has been consistently committed to elevating the students’ academic experience through recruitment and retention of the very best administrators and faculty. Through these efforts, Ms. Picciano has grown a culture of academic rigor and high expectations, all within the context of faith in God, joy in learning, and belief in the abilities of every Cathedralite.
Over the coming weeks, the Board of Trustees will begin to plan a search for the next President of Cathedral. With the support of the Archdiocese of New York, our committed trustees, and our strong administration and faculty, together we will embark upon Cathedral’s next chapter of growth and flourishing.
Although we will miss Juliette as she moves on to her new role, I hope you will join me in offering congratulations and gratitude for her service to Cathedral High School.
Sincerely,
Gina Fonti
Chair, Board of Trustees
