Since its founding in 1905, Cathedral High School has been empowering the young women of New York City through a trasnformative education and formation. Our school's Catholic identity forms the whole person—mind, body, and soul—and prepares students to enter both college and Heaven. We look forward to welcoming the new Class of 2029 into our Cathedral family!
Cathedralites represent diverse cultural populations and reglious backgrounds. Our rigorous curriculum, which includes Advanced Placement courses and specialized programs in the fields of Health and Medicine and Business, Finance and Law, prepares Cathedralites to enter the college or university of their choice. Our graduates earn millions of dollars each year in college scholarships and grants and matriculate to many of the nation’s top schools with prestigious awards such as the Gates Millennium Scholarship and the Questbridge National Match Scholarship.
To supplement our academic offerings, Cathedral also offers a vibrant athletics program, including basketball, lacrosse, soccer, softball, volleyball, and cheer, and over a dozen student-led clubs, including National Honor Society, World Youth Alliance, Latin Ballroom Dancing, Medical Club, and Photography Club.
Cathedral High School offers academic scholarships to incoming 9th grade students who apply to Cathedral through the TACHS exam.
Through the generosity of alumnae, benefactors and friends of Cathedral, we are able to provide a limited number of financial aid packages to our students. The aid is based on family’s need and when granted, is limited and is not intended to be a primary source of tuition.
Students entering the 9th grade can apply through our online form. Transfer students can learn more about the application process on our site.
