Please tell us a little bit about your academic and professional background.
I have over 40 years of experience in education in grammar schools, high schools, community colleges, and universities. Prior to working within the archdiocese, I served as principal for four schools in the Diocese of Brooklyn over a span of twenty-five years. I was also a classroom teacher in both public and Catholic elementary schools. I hold degrees from Fordham University, Boston College, Manhattan College, and Seton Hall University.
What do you think makes Cathedral unique?
The long and rich history of the school is certainly unique. The other aspect that contributes to its uniqueness is that Cathedral High School is an urban school that draws students from all over the New York City area, Long Island, and New Jersey.
What are your impressions of the students so far?
The students have been very welcoming, and I appreciate that. I love how the young women are supportive and accepting of one another.
Please tell us one fun fact about yourself and what you like to do when you’re not teaching.
I taught in an American School in Rome for three years as a young teacher. I reconnected with my Italian roots as I traveled through Italy on weekends and vacations. When I am not working, I love to cook, eat, read books, and binge on movies and tv shows (series). I am looking forward to the warmer weather and baseball. I am a long time Mets fan! I also love to go to the beach.
