Cathedral Community | Which Clubs Would You Join at the Club Fair?

A Cathedralite is sure to find a club that suits her passions and interests! World Youth Alliance, Enliven, and Medical Club offer opportunities to go out and serve our community; Crochet & Knitting Club and Home Economics offer both practical skills and the chance to grow in friendship; Student Council and Student Ambassadors cultivate leadership and initiative; and Film Club, Yearbook, and Photography Club create spaces for creative expression and discussion—and that’s not even half of the clubs that CHS has to offer!

We selected just five of the twenty-three clubs at the Club Fair to discover what they do and what upcoming event we can look forward to! Read on to discover the diversity of clubs that our students lead and participate in. 

Enliven 

• Enliven is CHS’s faith and service club, providing students with opportunities to grow in faith and friendship with each other, and to serve the community through various projects and fundraisers. We will start by creating community within the school in order to help the broader world!
• On October 1st, we will hear from a woman in Venezuela about the nonprofit she began called Impaktemos, which promotes education in her country. Then we will host a fundraiser to sell the friendship bracelet packs that the women in Venezuela make!

Mock Trial

• Our club gives lots of experience to those interested in the field of law. We engage in competitions against other schools, grow in confidence in oration and writing, and build discipline skills. 
• Our contact with law professionals leads to internships.
• We will prepare to participate in the New York State Mock Trial competition in February!

Newspaper

• As the student newspaper, we are the crossroads of all the other clubs! In the paper, we share information, interests, causes for concern, teacher Q&As, and offer new perspectives to the school!
• We look forward to being able to promote student events and new clubs, and we hope to publish once a month.

Latin and Ballroom Dance and the CCDC: Cathedral Constellations Dance Company 

• Dance is a great way to express yourself: it is an art form through which we can communicate things that are hard to express in words. Our dance company creates a sisterhood among the different grades and fosters lifelong friendships!
• We are very excited to perform at this year’s pep rallies and at the Spring Latin and Ballroom Dance Showcase; the last two years have been an amazing turnout, and we are excited to show our effort!

Medical Club 

• We are a club for CHS girls to gain insight into the healthcare field, especially for students who are not in the Medical Gateways Academy but have an interest in careers in healthcare. We plan to volunteer at the nearby nursing home, and are in the process of becoming a national chapter of HOSA, Future Health Professionals.
• We learn, lead, serve, and innovate as CHS girls and members of society.
