They also have a year-old great granddaughter, Ivy, who is a one year-old delight. Alice has wonderful memories of her four years at CHS, in the old building on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. She made life-long friends there, including Sr. Margaret (Evelyn) and Sr. Irene Mercedes (Fugazy), Anne Keilty (Lundy), Irene Millet (Connelly). Martha shared, "I am blessed and grateful to be alive in 2025! Last year was a challenging one; nonetheless, I am happy to still be standing. It began with my mother's passing in January 2024. Grieving is never easy, especially when it comes to family, and I found no other alternative than to maintain a low profile for the months that followed her transition with the Lord. But God never lets us go alone for too long. Shortly after my mom's passing, my son Jeffrey had submitted his DNA to the ancestry.com DNA registry. To my surprise, we found my long lost niece, Leslie, who I last saw when she was only 2 months old. Leslie is now 44! God is good all the time, and thanks to God and Jeffrey, I hope to spend many post-retirement days with our newly found family member, as I plan to retire this year! Live every day to love the Lord, and give Him your best, as the rewards are boundless!"
