Last month, Mr. Doyle’s business students received an immersive tour of the iconic trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange to learn the intricacies of stock trading firsthand. Students witnessed and learned about how technology has changed the way the brokers trade, as well as how many floor brokers and other specialists currently work on the floor—over the decades, the number has decreased from 2000 to 200!
After absorbing the electric atmosphere of the NYSE, students visited FINRA for a comprehensive overview of financial regulation from their team of experts. The day culminated in an interactive mock trading session where students applied what they learned throughout the day.
We are deeply grateful to our knowledgeable NYSE tour guide for explaining the stock exchange’s history, the professionals at FINRA for sharing their expertise and professional journeys with our students, and especially Junior Achievement, for their dynamic partnership with CHS!
